ZingLang exists so people can practice languages, make mistakes, meet new people, and have genuine conversations.
Everyone using ZingLang is expected to help keep the community friendly, respectful, and safe.
These Community Guidelines explain what is and isn't welcome here.
Last updated: August 2026
1. Be Respectful
You don't have to agree with everyone. You don't even have to like everyone. But you do need to treat people with basic respect.
Do not:
- Insult or humiliate other users.
- Bully or repeatedly annoy someone.
- Harass another user.
- Make unwanted personal attacks.
- Intentionally provoke or intimidate others.
- Continue contacting someone after they have clearly asked you to stop.
2. No Hate or Discrimination
ZingLang is for people from different countries, cultures, backgrounds, and levels of language ability. We do not allow hateful or discriminatory content targeting people based on protected or personal characteristics.
This includes:
- Slurs.
- Dehumanizing language.
- Threats against groups or individuals.
- Encouraging discrimination or violence.
- Content intended to promote hatred toward a protected group.
You can discuss difficult topics. You cannot use those topics as an excuse to attack other people.
3. No Harassment or Threats
We do not tolerate:
- Threats of violence.
- Stalking or intimidation.
- Sexual harassment.
- Repeated unwanted contact.
- Attempts to frighten or control another user.
- Encouraging someone to harm themselves or another person.
If someone makes you feel unsafe, block them and report them.
4. No Sexual or Explicit Content
ZingLang is a language-learning platform, not an adult-content platform.
Do not use ZingLang to:
- Send sexually explicit messages or images.
- Request sexual content from other users.
- Share pornography.
- Sexually harass other users.
- Sexualize minors in any way.
Content involving the sexual exploitation of minors is strictly prohibited and may be reported to appropriate authorities where required.
5. No Violence or Illegal Content
Do not use ZingLang to promote, facilitate, or coordinate unlawful activity.
This includes:
- Threats of violence.
- Instructions intended to facilitate serious wrongdoing.
- Content promoting violent criminal activity.
- Sharing illegal material.
- Attempts to recruit others into criminal activity.
Discussion of news, history, education, or other legitimate topics is not automatically prohibited. Context matters.
6. No Scams or Fraud
Do not use ZingLang to deceive or financially exploit other users.
Examples include:
- Fake investment opportunities.
- Romance scams.
- Phishing.
- Fake giveaways.
- Requests for money using deceptive stories.
- Impersonating another person to obtain money or information.
- Fraudulent links or websites.
- Attempts to steal account credentials.
If someone asks you for money or sensitive information, be cautious.
7. No Spam
ZingLang is for conversations, not mass messaging.
Do not:
- Send the same message repeatedly to many users.
- Create accounts for automated spam.
- Send unsolicited advertising.
- Promote unrelated businesses or services.
- Use bots to manipulate conversations or engagement.
- Flood another user's inbox.
8. No Impersonation
Do not pretend to be:
- Another ZingLang user.
- A public figure.
- A company representative.
- A government official.
- A ZingLang employee or representative.
Parody or obvious fictional accounts may be acceptable where they are not deceptive or harmful.
9. Respect Privacy
Do not share another person's private information without permission.
This includes:
- Home addresses.
- Private phone numbers.
- Passwords.
- Financial information.
- Private photographs.
- Private conversations.
- Personal documents.
- Other sensitive information.
Do not attempt to discover or expose information that another user has intentionally kept private.
10. Don't Exploit Language Learners
People come to ZingLang to learn.
Do not take advantage of someone's limited language ability to:
- Manipulate them.
- Scam them.
- Humiliate them.
- Pressure them into unwanted activities.
- Mislead them for personal gain.
Making fun of someone's grammar or pronunciation is not the kind of language practice we're trying to build. Corrections are welcome. Cruelty isn't.
11. Keep Your Account Secure
Do not:
- Share your password.
- Buy or sell ZingLang accounts.
- Access another person's account.
- Attempt to bypass account restrictions.
- Create new accounts to evade a suspension.
- Use stolen authentication credentials.
12. Don't Abuse the Platform
You must not attempt to:
- Hack ZingLang.
- Access systems or data without authorization.
- Circumvent security controls.
- Overload the service.
- Introduce malicious code.
- Scrape private information.
- Interfere with other users' access to the service.
- Exploit vulnerabilities for harmful purposes.
If you discover a security vulnerability, please contact us rather than exploiting it.
13. Reporting Problems
If another user violates these Guidelines, please report them. When reporting, provide enough information for us to understand what happened.
Depending on the feature involved, this may include:
- The user involved.
- The conversation.
- Relevant messages.
- A description of the problem.
Please do not submit knowingly false reports simply to punish another user.
14. Blocking
You can block users you no longer want to interact with. Blocking is one of the easiest ways to control your experience on ZingLang.
If someone makes you uncomfortable, you do not need to continue the conversation. You can simply: Block → Move on → Keep learning.
15. How We Enforce These Guidelines
When we receive a report or detect potentially harmful behavior, we may investigate.
Depending on the situation, we may:
- Take no action if there is no violation.
- Warn the user.
- Remove or restrict content.
- Restrict certain features.
- Temporarily suspend the account.
- Permanently terminate the account.
- Take other measures necessary to protect the community or service.
Serious violations may result in immediate account suspension or termination. We may take action without prior notice when necessary to address urgent safety, security, fraud, or legal concerns.
16. Appeals
If you believe your account was restricted or terminated by mistake, contact us and explain why you believe the decision was incorrect.
We may review the decision and take appropriate action. An appeal does not guarantee that a decision will be reversed.
17. We Consider Context
Not every potentially offensive word or difficult conversation is automatically a violation.
We may consider:
- Context.
- Intent.
- Severity.
- Whether the behavior was repeated.
- Whether someone was targeted.
- Potential harm.
- The user's history of violations.
Educational, historical, journalistic, or good-faith discussions may be treated differently from content intended to harass, threaten, or harm others.
18. Safety Comes First
ZingLang connects you with people you may not know personally. Please use common sense.
We recommend that you:
- Avoid sharing sensitive personal information.
- Be cautious when someone asks for money.
- Be careful with links sent by strangers.
- Block users who make you uncomfortable.
- Report suspicious or harmful behavior.
- Remember that online identities may not always be what they appear to be.
ZingLang cannot guarantee the identity, intentions, or behavior of another user.
19. These Guidelines May Change
As ZingLang grows, we may update these Guidelines to address new situations, features, or safety concerns.
When we make significant changes, we will update the Last updated date and may notify users where appropriate.
